TRNC Parliament Begins Work on the 2025 Budget
The Parliament of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has begun discussions on the budget for the Central Government Administration for the 2025 fiscal year. Today, the draft budget will be reviewed by the Economic, Finance, Budget, and Planning Committee.
The official proceedings will begin with an opening speech by the committee chair, Resimiye Eroğlu. The budget bill for the upcoming year will be presented by the Minister of Finance, Özdemir Berova. Following this, the committee will begin discussing the draft law article by article.
On Tuesday, November 12, the budgets of the President, the Assembly of the Republic, the Prime Minister's Office, and institutions associated with the Prime Minister will be debated.
On Wednesday, November 13, the committee will review the budgets for the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment, the Public Service Commission, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, and related institutions and organizations.
Thursday, November 14 will focus on the budgets for the Civil Defense Organization, the Security Forces Command, the courts, the Supreme Auditor (Ombudsman), the Legal Department (Attorney General's Office), and the Police Department.
On Tuesday, November 19, the budgets of the Court of Auditors, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of National Education, and related institutions and organizations will be discussed.
Wednesday, November 20 will be dedicated to reviewing the budgets for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy and Energy, the Ministry of Health, and associated institutions and organizations.
The discussions will continue on Thursday, November 21, with the budgets for the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
The budget review process will conclude on Friday, November 22. After discussing the budget and revenue proposals from the Ministry of Finance, a vote will be held to approve the final document in full.
