Negotiators from Both Cypriot Communities to Discuss Opening New Crossing Points
Negotiators from both sides of Cyprus will meet on Thursday, April 11, to discuss issues raised during last week's meeting between the two leaders.
According to the Cyprus News Agency, Güneş Onar, the special representative of Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar, and Menelaos Menelaou, the chief negotiator for the Greek Cypriots, will discuss the possibility of opening new crossing points between the two sides of the island.
Earlier, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres announced that, as a result of the leaders’ meeting, four new crossing points would be opened. Each side will have the right to open two crossing points.
Other topics, including the demining process in the buffer zone, are also expected to be discussed.
