First Lady of the TRNC Presents Book on Cypriot Cuisine
Sibel Tatar, the First Lady of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), recently presented the culinary book “Cypriot Cuisine: From Tradition to the Future.” This book is the first in a series of future Presidential publications dedicated to culture.
During the ceremony, Sibel Tatar expressed her gratitude to those who contributed to the creation of the book: culinary expert Mustafa Shah, academic Professor Tülen Saner, and chef-instructor Erhun Ekinci.
Sibel Tatar highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Turkish Cypriots and emphasized the importance of passing on this knowledge to future generations as part of preserving the island’s cultural legacy.
She also discussed the key role that gastronomy plays in tourism, noting that the book captures the essence of traditional Cypriot dishes.
Additionally, Sibel Tatar shared that the second book in the Presidential cultural series, titled “The Cypriot Book of Doors and Chests,” is already in production, and the third book will focus on Cypriot-Turkish folk music.
