TRNC Leaders Congratulate Azerbaijan on Independence Day
On May 28, Azerbaijan celebrates its Independence Day – Republic Day. To mark this national occasion, the top leaders of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) extended their congratulations to the brotherly people of Azerbaijan.
In his message, TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel emphasized that the Turkish Cypriot people have always stood united with Azerbaijan, sharing both joyful and difficult moments throughout history.
“We proudly salute Azerbaijan’s struggle for independence,” he said.
Üstel also noted that Turkey, Azerbaijan, and the TRNC continue to grow stronger together under the slogan: “One nation, three states.”
Highlighting the significance of Independence Day, he extended heartfelt congratulations to the Azerbaijani people and honored all the heroes who fought for the independence of the Turkic world — especially Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and Mammad Amin Rasulzadeh.
The Prime Minister also expressed his appreciation to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for his sincere support and brotherhood toward the TRNC.
“With all my heart, I congratulate dear Azerbaijan on May 28 – Republic Day,” he wrote.
