The top officials of the TRNC congratulated Ilham Aliyev on his re-election as President of Azerbaijan
The President of the TRNC, Ersin Tatar, congratulated the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, on his re-election as the head of state. According to exit polls, the incumbent leader received 93.9% of the votes.
The head of Northern Cyprus published his congratulations on social media.
"I heartily congratulate Ilham Aliyev, re-elected president for the fifth time, on his historic victory in the presidential elections in Azerbaijan, according to unofficial results, and I hope that the election results will benefit the entire fraternal people of Azerbaijan," wrote the President of the TRNC.
Azerbaijan's leader was also congratulated on his re-election by the Speaker of the TRNC Assembly, Zorlu Töre, and the Prime Minister of the country, Yunus Yüstel.
In his message, the head of parliament expressed hope that Ilham Aliyev's overwhelming victory in the elections would benefit the entire Turkic world, especially the Azerbaijani people, and wished the re-elected president success in fulfilling his duty.
"This undisputed victory in the elections, achieved by Ilham Aliyev for the fifth time, will not only continue Azerbaijan's steady progress but also make a significant contribution to regional peace, the development of the country's relations with the Turkic world, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus," Yunus Yüstel wrote in his message.
It is worth noting that according to the CEC of Azerbaijan, the final turnout in the presidential elections was 76.73%, with 4,971,032 out of 6,478,840 registered voters participating. In the previous elections in 2018, this figure was 74.5%. In second place after Ilham Aliyev is parliament deputy and independent candidate Zahid Oruj with 2.19% of the votes.
