TRNC Police Arrest Eight Individuals for Drug Possession
Eight people have been arrested in Northern Cyprus on drug-related charges. The arrests occurred during operations conducted yesterday in Tuzla, Famagusta, Bafra, and Güzelyurt.
According to the police press office, during searches of two separate residences in Tuzla and Famagusta, four individuals were detained—two men, aged 29 and 30, and two women, aged 24 and 25. The police seized a total of 20 grams of cocaine and 28 grams of cannabis, as well as specialized scales and a coffee grinder with traces of drugs.
In a separate operation in Bafra, İskele police searched a home where a 27-year-old man was present. They confiscated a water bottle, a cigarette butt, a cupholder, and a coffee grinder, all suspected of containing drug residues.
During an operation on Ecevit Street in Güzelyurt, the police stopped three suspicious young men, aged 24 and 25. A search of their vehicle uncovered a cigarette, suspected of containing drugs, on the passenger seat.
The police investigation into all these incidents is ongoing.
