TRNC Police on 24/7 Duty During Eid al-Fitr Celebrations
The TRNC Police General Directorate (PGM) has implemented all necessary measures to ensure public safety and order during the Eid al-Fitr (Uraza Bayram) holiday. Police officers will be on duty around the clock throughout the celebrations.
Authorities have warned of increased risks of theft, fires, and traffic accidents over the holiday period and urged citizens to take extra precautions when leaving their homes.
— Before leaving your home or workplace, check security systems and make sure surveillance cameras, if installed, are active and functioning properly. Lock all doors and windows, and inspect electrical appliances and outlets to prevent potential fire hazards, — the police advised.
In case of an emergency, the public can contact law enforcement and emergency services at any time:
-
155 — Police
-
199 — Fire Department
-
156 — Narcotics Division
Other emergency hotlines will also be operational throughout the holiday.
The police have also issued a reminder for drivers to avoid drinking and driving, follow speed limits, and stay off their phones while behind the wheel.
— Religious holidays hold great significance in our lives, fostering social unity, solidarity, love, respect, and tolerance. Promoting an atmosphere of understanding, peace, and brotherhood across society will help resolve many challenges, — the statement added.
