Police in Northern Cyprus Arrest Two Men Found Unconscious in Car Under the Influence of Drugs
Two men were found unconscious in a car that had come to a stop in the middle of the Nicosia–Famagusta road, blocking traffic. Other drivers spotted the vehicle and discovered the men unresponsive inside.
The incident gained widespread attention after a video of the scene surfaced on social media, prompting police to take action.
Following an operation by the anti-narcotics unit, officers tracked down and detained the two suspects in Gönyeli. The men, aged 29 and 50, were found inside the vehicle. A search of the car led to the discovery of suspicious paper fragments believed to contain drugs, along with scissors and straws.
Both men were taken into custody on suspicion of drug possession.
