Police Identify Weapon Used to Kill Donkeys in Karpas

The investigation into the shocking case of the mass killing of donkeys in Karpas, Northern Cyprus, is ongoing. Police have identified the weapon used to fatally shoot the animals.

According to the police spokesperson, the autopsies confirmed that all 14 wild donkeys, found dead in Dipkarpaz, had been shot at close range with a hunting shotgun.

To recap, over the weekend, unknown perpetrators opened fire on a herd of stray donkeys. At least 14 donkeys were killed, including a pregnant female that was shot during labor.

The bodies of the animals were discovered on Sunday around 4:00 PM, approximately 500 meters northwest of the Dipkarpaz landfill. The incident has caused widespread outrage, and a large-scale investigation has been launched. The case is now under the direct supervision of the President of Northern Cyprus.
