Obtaining a certificate of no criminal record through the Russian Consulate in Cyprus has now become subject to fees
In both the Republic of Cyprus and the TRNC, the procedures for obtaining a certificate of no criminal record through the Russian Consulate have been revised, and it now involves a fee.
According to the updated rules effective from March 1, 2024, applicants must either schedule an appointment at the consular office under the section “other services (certificates of no criminal record)” or visit the office in Northern Cyprus in person. Applicants will need to provide a copy of their passport, a copy of their internal passport (first page and page with registration), and a completed application form.
The new consular fees for obtaining the certificate are:
- For Russian citizens: in Russian — 10 euros, in English — 20 euros;
- For foreign citizens: in Russian — 22 euros, in English — 44 euros.
The processing time for the application at the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs is now up to two months. Applicants can check the status of their document readiness via email.
Previously, the certificate of no criminal record could be obtained free of charge, with a processing time of up to one month.
