The UN Secretary-General's envoy for Cyprus will meet with the President of Turkey in Ankara
Tomorrow in Ankara, the United Nations Secretary-General's envoy for Cyprus, Maria Angela Olguin Cuellar, will meet with the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the country's Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan. After the visit to Turkey, the diplomat will visit London and Brussels, and then return to Cyprus on March 6.
Recall that at the end of January, Maria Angela Olguin Cuellar arrived on Cyprus for the first time. During her time on the island, the Colombian diplomat spent about a week: during this time, she held several meetings with leaders of both communities - Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots, negotiators from both sides, visited the UNFICYP headquarters in the buffer zone, and met with representatives of non-governmental organizations.
Recall that on the eve of the UN envoy's visit to Ankara, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a phone call with the leader of the Turkish Cypriots, Ersin Tatar.
It is expected that on Monday, the Colombian diplomat will visit London, where she will hold talks with the British government.
