Fire in a residential building in Lefkoşa: likely cause — overloaded extension cord

In the Köşklüçiftlik area of Lefkoşa, a fire broke out during the day in a private house. The incident was recorded today around 16:55 on Kemal Zeytinoğlu Street.
According to the police, the fire started in the bedroom — presumably due to an overloaded multi-socket extension cord, into which several electrical appliances were plugged. The fire quickly spread inside the room.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and were able to extinguish the fire promptly. As a result, the bedroom was completely burned, and other parts of the house were affected by smoke and soot.
There were no casualties.
The circumstances of the incident are still being investigated.
