The President of TRNC thanked Ilham Aliyev and flew to Turkey

TRNC President Ersin Tatar has departed for Turkey. The Head of Northern Cyprus will hold a series of meetings in Ankara and Istanbul.

Before departing from Ercan Airport, Ersin Tatar answered questions from members of the press regarding the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to participate in the Turkic World Summit.

The President of TRNC reminded that Northern Cyprus has taken its place as an observer member in the Organization of Turkic States and noted that this invitation from the Azerbaijani leader pleased him.

Ersin Tatar emphasized that the increased recognition and participation of TRNC in the international community give the country additional strength.

The Head of Northern Cyprus thanked the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

Stating that it is important for the future of TRNC to be included in the Turkish Union, Ersin Tatar noted that the country will take its rightful place in this union.

It should be added that during the visit to Turkey, the President of TRNC will meet in Ankara with the Secretary-General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture, Sultan Raev, and also participate in the opening of an exhibition and a commemorative meeting on the theme "President-founder of TRNC Rauf R. Denktaş as an artist on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth".

It is worth mentioning that the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, previously visited the Republic of Turkey on a working visit. During the trip, the Azerbaijani leader invited the Head of Northern Cyprus to the Turkic States Summit, which will take place in July of this year in the cultural capital of the Turkic world - Shusha.
