Food Inspections: Parts of Imported and Local Produce Destroyed
The Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources has published the results of food inspections for the period from February 20 to 26.
According to the department's data:
- Out of 24 samples of imported products, 22 were found to be safe.
Excessive levels of plant protection products were detected in S.M pears and Golden apples supplied by Koçak Meyve Sebze. At the company's request, the produce was destroyed. - Out of 14 samples of local products, 12 met the standards.
Excessive pesticide levels were again found in strawberries from producer Yonca Aksoy in Yıldırım village.
The use of a non-recommended plant protection product was detected in cucumbers belonging to Bekir Cüre from Famagusta.
Both batches of local produce were also destroyed.
