The Assembly Republic's national football team played a friendly match with the Palestinian team of the International Student Association of Cyprus. The goal of the game was to draw attention to the situation in the Gaza Strip.

The match took place at the Yusuf Kaplan Stadium in Nicosia. Deputy President and Speaker of the Assembly Republic, Zorlu Töre, observed the game from the stands. Before the start of the match, a banner with the inscription "Turkish Cypriots support the oppressed Palestinian people" was displayed at the stadium, and the anthems of both countries were played. The match began with a minute of silence in memory of those who died in the Gaza Strip and as a result of the earthquake in Turkey on February 6.

After the match, players, including some members of parliament, took photos against the backdrop of the TRNC and Palestine flags.

Speaking after the game, the Speaker of the Assembly expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people and concluded his speech with the words: "We played this friendly match for the children suffering in the Gaza Strip and for their mothers; we are with them."

The final score of the friendly football match is not reported.
