Çanakkale Ortaokulu School commented on a video showing violence among students

The administration of Çanakkale Ortaokulu Middle School issued an official statement following the appearance on social media of videos depicting elements of violence, allegedly involving the school’s students.
The statement notes that the incident occurred outside school hours and off school premises. At the same time, the school administration emphasized that, regardless of time and place, any manifestation of violence is unacceptable and contrary to the school’s values.
The administration reported that disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against the students involved in the incident in accordance with the current Discipline Regulations, and appropriate administrative measures have already been taken.
It is specifically highlighted that the participants in the incident are minors. In this regard, the school reminded that the dissemination of personal data, photos, or videos depicting children in the media and on social networks violates the Convention on the Rights of the Child and national legislation. The public was urged to show responsibility and respect for the rights of minors.
In conclusion, the school administration stressed that the priority remains the safety of students, their psychological well-being, and the creation of a healthy educational environment. Efforts to prevent bullying and violence will continue in collaboration with students, parents, and teachers.
