Heavy rains in Girne: the mayor urges residents not to go out unless necessary

Due to intensifying downpours in Girne, road risks have sharply increased. Mayor Murat Şenkul reported on social media that the heavy rainfall is especially dangerous on the Girne–Lefkoşa highway: river overflows have been recorded in 2–3 places along this section, creating a threat for drivers.
Şenkul urged residents to stay home whenever possible and avoid using the Girne–Lefkoşa road unless absolutely necessary. For those already driving, he recommended exercising maximum caution and keeping in mind that road conditions may deteriorate rapidly due to rain and flooding.
