As part of its 2026 plan, the Civil Defense Organization (Sivil Savunma Teşkilatı) has launched the "Emergency Ready School" program for primary and secondary school students.

According to the department, the goal of the program is to increase children's readiness for potential emergencies and to foster a culture of safety and conscious behavior during natural disasters.

Today, specialists from the Famagusta regional office held sessions at:

  • Alasya İlkokulu — for 98 students and 9 teachers;
  • Canbulat İlkokulu — for 104 students and 11 teachers.

The theme of the lessons was "Earthquake Response and Evacuation." The training included practical evacuation drills with active participation from school administrations and faculty.

Students were taught:

  • How to prepare for a possible earthquake;
  • How to act during tremors;
  • What steps to take after the event.

Special emphasis was placed on maintaining composure and following correct procedures without panic. The program aims to reach all primary and secondary students across the country by the end of 2026.
