Short Film Shot in TRNC to Be Screened at Los Angeles Festival
The short film "The Promise" will be showcased at the Angaelica Festival in Los Angeles. The film delves into the events that took place in Cyprus in 1974.
Produced in collaboration with the Turkish Cypriot Film and Television Association (Sinevizyon), the Turkish Cinema and Television Association of Cyprus, and SineSmart Productions, the short film is part of the feature-length project "Döneceğin Güne Kadar". Filming began in 2019, but production was postponed due to the pandemic, with completion finally achieved in 2023.
Following its premiere in Nicosia, a section of the feature film, titled "Söz", embarked on an international festival tour. It is set to be screened at the Angaelica Festival, which runs in Los Angeles from October 21 to 31.
The film was produced by Yusuf Darbukacı, written by Şafak Yolcu, and directed by Cüneyt Şen. The cast features Mehmet Yörükoğlu, Yeşim Kumral, Arjen Çağdaş Can, Kani Yüzügüleç, and Berkant Çakmak.
