The Higher Education Council of Turkey will provide support to TRNC universities
A delegation from the Higher Education Council of Turkey (YÖK) made a statement about their visit to the TRNC. The Turkish authority will provide necessary support for the international recognition of universities in Northern Cyprus.
The Higher Education Council of Turkey visited the TRNC this week for technical research jointly with the Higher Education Planning, Supervision, Accreditation, and Coordination Council (YÖDAK).
The YÖK delegation was received by the President of the TRNC, Ersin Tatar, the Prime Minister of the country, Ünal Üstel, the Minister of National Education, Nazım Çavuşoğlu, and the newly appointed President of YÖDAK, Aykut Hojanin.
During the meetings with officials, the focus was on utilizing the experience and knowledge of YÖK to enhance the quality of education in the TRNC.
Following the meetings held on the island, the Higher Education Council stated that it will provide necessary support to enhance the quality of higher education, which will contribute to the international recognition of TRNC universities.
For this purpose, the Higher Education Council will provide technical support to YÖDAK for the renovation of all necessary infrastructure, establishment of quality control systems, development of information infrastructure, and achieving a higher level of the higher education system, as well as sharing its knowledge and experience.
