Northern Cyprus is enveloped in dust from the Middle East
The Department of Meteorology of Northern Cyprus has issued an emergency warning due to dust polluting the air. Fine particles brought to the region from the Middle East will persist in the atmosphere until midnight today.
According to meteorologists, a new "dusty" warning is in effect in the country starting from midnight tonight until 20:00 on Thursday, April 18th.
"Since dust particles from North Africa are expected to cause air pollution in our region, citizens sensitive to dust are advised to be cautious," the agency said in a statement.
Recall that earlier, a dust warning was issued by the Department of Meteorology of Northern Cyprus at the end of March - beginning of April. At that time, dust from North Africa lingered in the region for over a week.
