The price of a liter of water in Northern Cyprus has exceeded the cost of milk

In Northern Cyprus, Mehmet Çetereysi, a board member of the Union of Producers and Breeders, compared the price of a liter of drinking water with that of raw milk and sharply criticized the situation in the agricultural sector. This was reported by Kıbrıs Postası on November 17.
According to him, 1 liter of water is sold for 30 Turkish liras, while a liter of raw milk costs 19.53 liras. Çetereysi noted that with such a price ratio, it is difficult for producers to stay afloat.
In his social media post, he called the situation “a disgrace” and addressed responsible officials with criticism, emphasizing that in the country “the cheapest things are raw milk and live livestock.” The stated amounts were provided in his post dated November 17.
