TRNC President Ersin Tatar welcomed a delegation from the Turkish National Olympic Committee. Yusuf Dikec, the silver medalist from the Paris Games and a viral meme sensation, presented his iconic Olympic jersey to the President of Northern Cyprus.

During the meeting, President Ersin Tatar congratulated Yusuf Dikec on his remarkable success at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and expressed his pleasure in meeting him. He highlighted that Dikec's achievements are a significant source of pride for Turkey and wished the shooter continued success in his sporting endeavors.

At 51 years old, Yusuf Dikec has become one of the most recognizable athletes of Paris 2024. He competed in a simple, wrinkled T-shirt and track pants, adopting a relaxed pose that resonated with fans. Dikec went on to win a silver medal in the 10-meter air pistol event, becoming a social media sensation and one of the standout stars of the recent Olympics.

Notably, Nihat Usta, the Vice President of the Turkish National Olympic Committee, and his accompanying delegation were on the island for the 2024 National Olympic Committee's "Olympism" award ceremony. The reception also included TRNC National Olympic Committee President Dursun Koç and other board members.
