An earthquake occurred off the coast of Lefke
An earthquake was recorded off the northwest coast of the TRNC. The magnitude of the underground shocks off the coast of Lefke was 3.6 on the Richter scale.
According to the seismic station of Lefke Meteorological Department, the earthquake with a very weak instrumental magnitude occurred on March 1 at 08:48 approximately 148 km off the coast.
As a result of preliminary assessments by the department, it was determined that the epicenter of the earthquake was in the sea northwest of Cyprus at coordinates 35.49 degrees north latitude and 31.28 degrees east longitude, at a depth of about 38 kilometers.
