Dereboyu Street in Nicosia will reopen to traffic on Monday
On Monday, August 19, one of the busiest streets in Nicosia, Dereboyu, will reopen to traffic. Sewer line work will continue on Bedrettin Demirel Street.
According to information provided by the Turkish Municipality of Nicosia (LTB), as part of the sewer line construction work, Mehmet Akif Street (Dereboyu) will be open to traffic on Monday, August 19. On the same day, the second phase of sewerage work will begin on Bedrettin Demirel Street. It is planned to be completed within 15 days.
During the work, there will be no exit from Gültekin Şengör Street to Bedrettin Demirel Street. Access from Atatürk Street to the Prime Minister's building will also be closed.
During the works, drivers are asked to follow the road signs and markings.
It should be noted that the first phase of sewer repair on the main pedestrian street Dereboyu, as well as Bedrettin Demirel Street and the connecting Gültekin Şengör Street, began at the end of July. The work will be carried out in three phases and is scheduled to be completed by September 15. The project cost is one million euros.
