Near East University to present 40 promotion certificates and open Zühre Özkaraman's exhibition on April 9
In Northern Cyprus, Near East University will hold a solemn ceremony to present academic promotion documents on April 9 at the İrfan Günsel Congress Center. Starting at 16:00, 40 staff members promoted in 2025 to the ranks of assistant professor, associate professor, and professor will receive their certificates.
Following the ceremony, at 17:00, a solo exhibition by artist Zühre Özkaraman titled "Games of My Memory" (Hafızamın Oyunları) will open in the Congress Center's exhibition hall. The exhibition, featuring works on nature, memory, and emotions, is included in the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts program as its 481st exhibition and will remain open until May 8.
Near East University Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ emphasized that the promotions reflect the academics' contribution to scientific production and enhance the university's international visibility, while the union of science and art aligns with the university's strategy. Rector's Advisor and Director of the GÜNSEL Art Museum, Prof. Erdoğan Ergün, noted that Zühre Özkaraman's exhibition offers deep reflection on identity, belonging, and collective memory, inviting the public to attend the opening.
Residents and guests in Northern Cyprus can visit the exhibition during exhibition hall working hours until May 8.
