Azerbaijan Celebrated the 41st Anniversary of the TRNC
The capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, marked the 41st anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) with a special event.
The reception, organized by the TRNC Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ufuk Turan, was attended by Turkey's Ambassador to Baku, Cahit Bağcı, members of the Azerbaijani parliament, representatives of Turkish institutions and organizations operating in Azerbaijan, and business leaders. The event began with the performance of the national anthems of both countries.
During his speech, the TRNC Ambassador extended his congratulations to Azerbaijan on the successful conclusion of the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29), the largest international event ever hosted by Azerbaijan.
Emphasizing that the TRNC is an integral part of the Turkic world, Ufuk Turan stated that “the bond of unity between the TRNC and brotherly Azerbaijan has only grown stronger in recent years.”
He added, "President Ilham Aliyev's words, 'We have no other family but the Turkic world,' are extremely important to us, and we are committed to developing in this direction. It is our greatest duty and responsibility. The establishment of friendship groups between the parliaments of Azerbaijan and the TRNC is the most convincing evidence of the roadmap laid out by the President of Azerbaijan."
The Chairman of the Azerbaijan-TRNC Parliamentary Friendship Group, Cavanşir Feyziyev, also delivered his congratulations on the 41st anniversary and encouraged Azerbaijan's business, educational, tourism, and cultural communities to deepen cooperation with the TRNC.
It is important to note that on November 15, the TRNC celebrated its 41st anniversary with a series of celebrations and events across the country.
