Seven Injured in Traffic Accident on Northern Cyprus; Woman Dies in Hospital
A major traffic accident occurred over the weekend in Northern Cyprus, resulting in injuries to seven people. Sadly, one of the injured, a woman, passed away in the hospital.
According to the police press service, the accident took place around 11:30 in the vicinity of the village of Korkuteli, between the 14th and 15th kilometers of the main Famagusta-Nicosia road. The 54-year-old driver, traveling in the right lane towards Nicosia, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to skid off the road and flip onto its roof.
The accident left seven people injured: the driver, four adult passengers, and two children aged 12 and 15. The most severely injured was 40-year-old Hediye Gekçe, who succumbed to her injuries despite medical efforts. She passed away at Famagusta State Hospital, where she was receiving treatment.
The other injured individuals are currently under medical observation. The investigation into the causes of the fatal accident is ongoing.
