Child Injured in Car Accident with Drunk Driver in Alsancak
In Northern Cyprus, an 8-year-old child was injured in a multi-vehicle accident caused by a drunk driver over the past weekend.
According to the police press release, around 17:00 on Karaoglanoglu Street in Alsancak, a 41-year-old driver, under the influence of alcohol, collided with an oncoming car, grazed two parked cars near a supermarket, and then swerved into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with another car.
As a result of the accident, 8-year-old Yusuf Chataloglu, a passenger in one of the vehicles, was injured. He was taken to Akcicek State Hospital in Kyrenia and discharged after treatment. The intoxicated driver responsible for the accident has been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.
It's worth noting that another accident involving a slightly intoxicated driver occurred yesterday around 04:00 in the morning on Public Beach Road Batuhan in Bafra. The 28-year-old driver lost control, veered off the road, and crashed into a bench on the sidewalk. Fortunately, no one was injured in that accident.
