Repair of street lighting has started in Famagusta
The Department of Roads announced the start of repair work to illuminate the main transport arteries of Famagusta. The street lighting will be renovated in cooperation with the Famagusta Municipality and the Turkish Cypriot Electricity Corporation (Kıb-Tek).
According to the director of the Department of Roads, Durdane Abi Adji, cooperation with local authorities in the maintenance and repair of road lighting is carried out on the initiative of the Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı. In the future, this practice is planned to be extended throughout the island.
In particular, next week the repair of street lighting will begin in Guzelyurt.
In addition, work continues in the following municipalities: Nicosia, Gönyeli-Alaiköy, Kyrenia, in the Mesarya region and the surrounding area of Çatalköy-Esentepe.
- We strive to complete the work as soon as possible. In this regard, our people also have a big request. Road lighting, especially lighting at intersections, is very important for road safety and life safety, the head of the department emphasized.
