Fake Dollars Discovered in Famagusta: Three People Arrested
Fake US dollars have been found in Famagusta, leading to the arrest of three people by the police.
According to the police report, the incident took place at a local market in Famagusta.
A customer tried to pay for goods using a $100 bill with the serial number KB79514703Q. The seller suspected the bill might be counterfeit and called the police, who promptly arrested the suspect at the scene.
During the ongoing investigation, two more individuals were detained. These suspects are believed to be involved in producing and distributing counterfeit money.
Given the possibility that more fake notes may already be in circulation, the police issued a warning to anyone holding $100 bills, especially those starting with the mentioned serial number. Banks, financial institutions, markets, and individuals planning to exchange or accept cash are advised to stay alert and report any suspicious activity or persons to their nearest police station.
