GAU to Establish Center for Robotics, AI, and Unmanned Systems
Girne American University (GAU) has decided to establish a new Center for Applied Research in Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) systems within the university structure.
According to the Rector of the university, Professor Serdar Yurtsever, the new center will serve as a platform for interdisciplinary research in robotics, autonomous systems, and AI, as well as for the development of national and international scientific partnerships.
The center will bring together specialists from various fields — engineering, aviation, maritime technology, healthcare, business, social and human sciences, and law. Key objectives include participating in international grants, developing graduate and doctoral research, strengthening cooperation with industry, and promoting technological innovation in the region.
The university emphasizes that developing high-tech sectors will enhance GAU's scientific potential, increase international visibility, boost the number of publications in high-ranking journals, and stimulate patent activity and the commercialization of developments.
