The 3rd Merit Cumhuriyet Run was held in Kyrenia with the participation of eight primary schools

The 3rd Merit Cumhuriyet Run — a race took place in Kyrenia, organized with the support of Merit International, Merit Social Affairs Coordination, and the Ministry of Education of TRNC. Eight primary schools from the region participated. The race was dedicated to the 42nd anniversary of the founding of the TRNC.
Among the participants were 23 Nisan İlkokulu, Mustafa Çağatay İlkokulu, Şehit Hasan Cafer İlkokulu, Karaoğlanoğlu İlkokulu, Alsancak İlkokulu, Lapta İlkokulu, Karşıyaka İlkokulu, Çamlıbel Aysun İlkokulu, and Karşıyaka Merkez İlkokulu. The festive atmosphere was enhanced by the Meritta Club mascot, who posed for photos with children and parents.
The competitions were held in two categories. In the 800-meter race among girls, the winner was Ada Özkur (Lapta İlkokulu), second place went to Doğa Dağgez (Şehit Hasan Cafer İlkokulu), and third place to Hayat Gezer (Alsancak İlkokulu).
In the 1000-meter race among boys, the first to finish was Andrey Gujkov (Alsancak İlkokulu), second was Ekin Çağlar (Alsancak İlkokulu), and third was Yasin Erişik (Lapta İlkokulu).
After the performance of the İstiklal Marşı, an award ceremony took place. All schools received trophies, and each participant was given a medal. Merit International Social Projects Coordinator Mine Gürses thanked the teachers and congratulated the children for participating in the competitions.
