Pine Beetle Control Initiative Launched in İskele
The Municipality of İskele has initiated a biological campaign to combat the pine beetle (cross beetle). The treatment, which began yesterday, will extend to İskele and 21 nearby villages.
Each year, the municipality takes preventive measures against the pine beetle in collaboration with Taşkent Nature Park and the İskele Coastal and Environmental Conservation Initiative.
Biological spraying is being carried out in areas with dense vegetation, where mechanical control methods are less effective. In places such as schools, where pine trees are less abundant, mechanical treatments will be applied instead.
According to the municipality’s statement, the campaign uses 100% biological products, which are completely safe for both humans and animals. The treatment efforts are expected to be completed by the end of the month.
For further information about pine beetle control measures, residents are encouraged to contact the municipality at 0548 810 11 02.
