The second phase of the improvement project for the covered market area has commenced in İskele
The second phase of the project to develop the covered market area and terminal zone of the İskele Municipality has begun in Northern Cyprus. The first phase was implemented with the support of the Economic Development and Cooperation Office of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Nicosia.
The tender process for the project, the second phase of which will be funded by the İskele Municipality itself and will cover an area of 15,500 square meters, has been completed.
Destebaşı Construction Ltd. won the tender for the project works. Construction work for the second phase, signed by project manager Deriya Dinçkuyucu, is planned to be completed within 180 working days.
During the first phase, work was completed on the construction of the metal structures of the Market Square and the Fishermen's Hut, improvement of the toilet framework, and drainage infrastructure. Architectural, roofing, and facade works were also carried out. Electrical equipment installation and landscaping of the surrounding area were completed.
