In İskele, a Christmas campaign was dedicated to helping people with cancer

A traditional Christmas charity event in support of the Cancer Patients Assistance Association (Kanser Hastalarına Yardım Derneği) took place in İskele. The event was held on the municipal city beach of İskele — near Babutsa Büfe — with the support of the municipality, which acted as the organizer and provided logistics.
The main highlight of the event was a symbolic swim: dozens of expat residents, despite the cool weather, entered the sea to draw attention to the issue of cancer and simultaneously raise funds. Christmas songs were played at the venue, guests were treated to hot drinks and Christmas pastries, and volunteers prepared and distributed traditional koliva.
As a result of the campaign, the organizers donated 13,840 TL and 10 British pounds to the association’s fund.
