85-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck by Car in Yılmazköy — Man in Intensive Care

A road traffic accident occurred on Hacı Hüseyin Sokak in Yılmazköy village at approximately 10:00 AM on February 19, 2026.
According to police reports, 49-year-old driver Murtaza Yaşar, operating vehicle LF 682, was heading north when he carelessly struck 85-year-old pedestrian Erdoğan Korkuter, who was walking on the road.
The elderly man sustained severe injuries as a result of the impact. He was rushed to Lefkoşa Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital.
Preliminary medical reports indicate the victim has been diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage and is currently under observation in the intensive care unit.
The police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
