Fires in Karşıyaka and Bafra Cause Significant Material Damage
Two fires in Northern Cyprus on December 4 resulted in notable material damage. The incidents occurred in Karşıyaka and Bafra, with no reported injuries.

According to police reports, the first fire erupted around 12:30 PM in the kitchen of a house on Şafak Street in Karşıyaka. Preliminary investigations suggest that the blaze started due to overheating and ignition of a stove. Firefighters quickly responded and extinguished the fire. The incident caused damage to the oven and various kitchen appliances and utensils.
The second fire took place at approximately 3:30 PM in an underground corridor of a hotel in Bafra. Initial findings indicate that the fire was triggered by an electrical short circuit. Firefighters arrived promptly to extinguish the flames. However, the fire completely destroyed 25 plastic sun loungers and 15 beach umbrellas stored in the corridor.
