Counterfeit Dollars Found in Alsancak Casino

The TRNC police have warned the public about counterfeit dollars that may have entered circulation. Fake banknotes were discovered in a casino in Alsancak.

According to the police press office, unknown individuals who visited the gaming establishment yesterday circulated counterfeit $100 bills.

The police statement provided the serial numbers of the counterfeit notes: HA23372332A, HB07635698M, HD25513190B, HB21891224P, HB26625435I, HB76294871I, HF25869455C, HF47178789B, HF50904665A, HF61298836E.

In total, $1,200 in counterfeit currency has been released into circulation.

"The possibility that these counterfeit bills may be circulated more widely means that anyone possessing $100 bills with the specified serial numbers should exercise caution and report any suspicious individuals to the nearest police station," the statement advised.

This warning is primarily directed at banks, financial institutions, currency exchange companies, and citizens who plan to buy, sell, or exchange money.
