An estate agent was arrested in Kyrenia for defrauding an investor of 350,000 euros
A 38-year-old estate agent in Kyrenia defrauded a person who wanted to invest in the real estate sector.
In an incident that occurred between May 22 and August 1, 2023, it was established that the man, who acted as an intermediary in the purchase of three apartments from a mass housing project under construction in Tatlısu and Gazimağusa, deceived the investor by claiming that he could also sell an apartment on the same site which had previously been sold to another person in 2021.
Gaining trust through false statements, the agent received a total of 349,305 euros from the victim. During the investigation initiated after the incident came to the police's attention, the suspect was found and arrested at Ercan Airport on June 12, 2025, when he entered the country.
The police reported that the investigation of the incident is ongoing.
