In Kyrenia, motorcycle police have started duty
Motorized police groups have started working in Kyrenia. They are expected to respond more quickly to calls and improve the quality of crime prevention work in the region.
According to information provided by the police spokesperson, Kyrenia has been chosen as the pilot region. Motorized police brigades will patrol the streets as part of the crime prevention department of the Kyrenia Police Department. The newly formed motorcycle police groups will be on duty during peak hours.
It is reported that the new unit will carry out patrol duties in the city to prevent crimes, as well as ensure the security of the scene, arriving promptly in case of a crime and taking necessary measures to provide first aid to the victims.
Among the main responsibilities of the motorcycle police is also to assist in the investigation of offenses and to promptly detect and apprehend suspects.
It is reported that four police officers who underwent "Basic Training for Motorcycle Police Groups" at the General Directorate of Security of the Turkish Republic and the Department of Public Order in Ankara for a month have started to perform the new duties.
It is worth noting that the General Directorate of Security of the Turkish Republic presented two motorcycles, special clothing for drivers, and equipment to the Main Directorate of Police of the TRNC.
