In Kyrenia, checks on heavy vehicles on the roads have taken place
The first inspection under the recently implemented ban on the movement of trucks and lorries was conducted in Kyrenia. During the raids, the owners of two vehicles were fined.
The initial check was carried out on December 19 by road police officers in collaboration with the Kyrenia Police Department. They identified two vehicles on the city streets that violated the recently enacted regulation.
As a reminder, the restriction on the movement of heavy vehicles in Kyrenia came into effect on December 4.
According to the regulation, the lane in the East-West direction is closed for heavy vehicles (trucks, trailers, work vehicles, etc.) from 16:30 to 19:00 along the route from the New Port traffic light to the municipality building.
During these hours, drivers of heavy vehicles are prohibited from traveling on Semih Sancar Street.
Drivers who fail to comply with the law will be fined 18,103 Turkish liras, and they will also incur 15 penalty points for the violation.
Checks on the enforcement of the regulation will be conducted regularly in the region.
