Exhibition "Women in the Republic's Memory Book" opens in Nicosia
The exhibition "Cumhuriyetin Hatıra Defteri Kadınlar Sergisi" ("Women in the Republic's Memory Book") has opened in the historic Bedesten building in Nicosia.
The project was implemented by GIKAD in collaboration with women entrepreneurs' associations from Denizli and Gaziantep.
The exhibition features 63 photographs of pioneering and prominent women of Northern Cyprus. Among the guests at the opening were the heroines of the exposition themselves, as well as relatives of participants who have already passed away.
In preparing the exposition, materials from the "40 Women" project, created for the 40th anniversary of the Republic, were used, as well as the book "Pioneering Turkish Cypriot Women," prepared by the Bellapais Inner Wheel club with the support of Sibel Tatar.
GIKAD President İçim Çağıner Kavuklu noted that one of the organization's main missions is to promote the values of the TRNC at national and international levels.
Following speeches by ceremony participants, a symbolic ribbon was cut, officially opening the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open to visitors until April 3 at the Bedesten in Nicosia.
