Drunk driver causes traffic accident in Lefkosa — no injuries reported
In Lefkosa, at around 01:00 last night, a traffic accident involving a driver under the influence of alcohol occurred on Şehit Mustafa Ahmet Ruso Caddesi.
According to police, 29-year-old Serkan Çakmakçı, driving vehicle VZ 239, was traveling northbound and was under the influence of alcohol — 147 milligrams. After losing control of the vehicle, he crashed into a parked car YB 196, owned by 38-year-old Emre Orçan.
No one was injured in the accident; only the vehicles sustained damage.
The driver of VZ 239 was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and causing a traffic accident. The police investigation is ongoing.
