A concert was held in Mersin to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the TRNC
In Mersin, a concert took place to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The performance occurred on the opera stage of the Cultural Center in collaboration with the Mersin State Opera and Ballet (MDOB) and the State Ballet of the TRNC.
Under the direction of Ali Hodja, soloists Sermin Dikmen Tyere, Tugrul Enver Tyere, and Arda Aktar took the stage. The MDOB orchestra accompanied the artists.
The event was attended by Rear Admiral Murat Fırat, the commander of the Mediterranean region and garrison, Tan Sagturk, the general director of the State Opera and Ballet, and representatives of the public.
Recall that the Republic Day of the TRNC is a national holiday celebrated in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on November 15 every year, commemorating the declaration of independence in 1983. This year marked the 40th anniversary since its founding. The annual celebrations began on November 14 and continued throughout the following day.
