The Lapta–Alsancak–Çamlıbel Municipality (LAÇ Municipality) has approved new water tariffs and related service fees, with most charges indexed to the gross annual minimum wage of 60,618 TL.

According to the newly published price list:

  • The basic installation of a standard water meter now costs 25,700 TL
  • Water meter replacement is priced at 6,835.27 TL
  • The water disconnection/reconnection service (open–close) costs 909.27 TL
  • Change of subscriber name in the water system is also set at 909.27 TL
  • A monthly residential service fee has been introduced at 944.63 TL

Additional charges are specified for technical services, including replacement of shut-off valves, installation of air release valves and vents, as well as battery replacement for water meters, now priced at 487.20 TL.

Significant changes have also been made to water usage tariffs:

For households:

  • Up to 30 tons per month: 51.78 TL per ton
  • 31–50 tons: 74.21 TL per ton
  • Above 50 tons: 181.85 TL per ton

For construction sites and certain other categories, a flat rate of 181.85 TL per ton applies.

For businesses, the rate is 74.21 TL per ton,

for hotels and tourism facilities — 92.39 TL per ton,

and for livestock facilities (animal shelters) — 46.32 TL per ton.

Comparison with Previous Tariffs:

Under the previous pricing structure, in effect since 16 June 2025, household water rates were:

  • Up to 30 tons: 37.84 TL per ton
  • 31–50 tons: 53.92 TL per ton
  • Above 51 tons: 130.41 TL per ton

Construction sites and some other categories were charged 130.41 TL per ton,

businesses 53.92 TL, and hotels and tourism facilities 66.10 TL per ton.

A comparison shows a sharp increase in costs for residential consumers:

  • Up to 30 tons: increase of approximately 37%
  • 31–50 tons: increase of around 38%
  • Over 50 tons: increase of nearly 39%

Similar increases apply to the commercial sector, with business tariffs rising from 53.92 TL to 74.21 TL, and hotel tariffs from 66.10 TL to 92.39 TL.

The newly set monthly residential service fee of 944.63 TL also represents a nearly 40% increase, compared to the previous fee of 677.39 TL.

Increases in Other Service Charges:

Beyond water prices, related service fees have also risen sharply. Previously, changing a subscriber name or reconnecting a water meter cost 652.04 TL, while both services now cost 909.27 TL, an increase of over 39%.

The updated tariff list also introduces or clarifies several technical charges — including water meter replacement, smart card installation (469.61 TL), valve replacement and air valve installation — which were either not listed before or were significantly lower.

Overall, the new tariff structure means higher water costs across all categories, along with increased expenses for meter-related services and connections for both residents and businesses.

Note: Water prices and service fees may vary between different regions and municipalities.
