In Nicosia, an Ancient Hammam Will Open to Visitors
The administration of Cypriot endowments (Evkaf) announced that the historical Great Bath in Nicosia has undergone comprehensive restoration. The ancient hammam will once again welcome visitors.
According to Evkaf's statement, the historical Great Bath in Nicosia was built between 1571 and 1590 and has been one of the city's symbols since the 16th century.
As a result of the tender conducted by Evkaf, the hammam underwent comprehensive restoration and was brought into a modern form while preserving its historical essence and functions.
One of the rare structures of the Ottoman era, the Great Hammam in Nicosia, will reopen its doors on June 1st.
