In Nicosia, a fraudster who affixed Apple's official labels to counterfeit products and sold them as genuine has been arrested. Under the guise of AirPods Pro and Apple Watch, he sold Chinese knock-offs from the market, and under the guise of expensive duty-free perfumes, he sold cheap perfume from a Mister Pound store.

According to the police press service, Onur Jan Zulami ended up in the defendant's dock. According to the investigation, the suspect was involved in the activities of a company operating in the Ortakoy area of Nicosia.

In November 2023, he purchased counterfeit AirPods Pro headphones for 200 Turkish lira and HW68 smartwatches for $25. After affixing Apple's brand labels to them, the suspect resold them to a 21-year-old university student as genuine.

After a complaint from the buyer on November 22 about the fraud, the police learned about the incident, and on the same day, the suspect was arrested. During a search in the dormitory room where he lived, labels with "Duty Free" and "Apple Watch" were found and seized as physical evidence.

In addition, 10 perfumes with Duty Free labels were found in the suspect's car. The police stated that he obtained the perfume from Mister Pound stores in Kyrenia and Nicosia.

Also found in the car were four fake Apple Watch and Apple Air Pods, and five Tag Heuer watches. The suspect has already confessed that he purchased the dubious goods from a person named Tachettin in Nicosia.

As part of the ongoing investigation, the police requested a one-day detention for the suspect, and the judge agreed to this decision.
