On New Year's night in Northern Cyprus, there were 7 road accidents with four injured
On the last day of 2023 and the first day of 2024, seven traffic accidents occurred in the TRNC. As a result, four people were injured.
In particular, according to the police press service, in Kyrenia, a 30-year-old man hit a 32-year-old female pedestrian while driving a car. The injured woman was taken to the Akcicek Hospital in Kyrenia and discharged after treatment.
In another accident, three people were injured. The incident occurred on January 1st around 05:40 on the Dikmen - Tashkent highway. A 23-year-old man lost control and crashed into a rock on the right side of the road, causing the car to overturn.
In addition to the driver, two passengers were injured in the accident – 24-year-old Hussein Aslan and 35-year-old Natalia Sıraması. All three injured individuals are under medical observation after treatment at the Burhan Nalbantoglu State Hospital in Nicosia.
It is worth noting that on the holiday, the traffic police checked 963 drivers. During the checks, 52 drivers were caught speeding, 8 were found driving under the influence, one person drove without a license, two were not wearing seat belts. Another 10 people violated other traffic rules. 7 vehicles were prohibited from further use.
