A formal reception was held in Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman, to celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). The event was organized by Mustafa Tunç, the TRNC Representative in Muscat.

The reception was attended by ambassadors from Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Sudan, along with several Omani diplomats, officials, businesspeople, and Turkish Cypriots living in Oman.

According to Mustafa Tunç, the TRNC is "a country strategically positioned in the heart of the Eastern Mediterranean, with a small territory but a proud vision and clear goals."

He emphasized that Turkish Cypriots have always remained determined to be an integral part of the international community and underscored that the enduring relationship between Turkey and the TRNC is a cornerstone of peace, security, and prosperity in the region.

The attendees paid tribute to two key figures in the Turkish Cypriot struggle for freedom: Dr. Fazıl Küçük, a leader of the movement, and Rauf Raif Denktaş, the founding president of the TRNC. During the event, a series of videos showcasing the natural and historical beauty of Northern Cyprus was shown.

The TRNC representative also extended congratulations to the people of Oman in celebration of Oman’s National Day, which is observed on November 18.

"I am confident that the friendship and cooperation between Oman and the TRNC will only grow stronger over time," said Mustafa Tunç.

It’s important to note that November 15 marked the 41st anniversary of the TRNC’s founding, with festive ceremonies and events held throughout Northern Cyprus.
